Little Bit of Love

It is important that the items be prepared properly.  Shoppers at a consignment sale expect clothes to be clean and toys and furniture to be working and in good condition.  Here are some guidelines on how to prepare your items.

What to Bring

  • Quality spring/summer children's clothing, size newborn through girls size 16 and boys size 20.  We also accept junior sizes through size 13.
  • Toys!!  All kinds:  baby, toddler, educational, outside playground equipment, and bikes.
  • Baby items:  strollers, baby beds, high chairs, bouncy seats, car seats, exersaucers, pack and plays, bassinets, bedding, etc.
  • Toddler beds, twin beds, children's dressers, night stands, and furniture.
  • Maternity clothing
  • Shoes, socks, and tights
  • Dress-up clothes, gymnastics and ballet outfits, swimsuits, and dolls
  • Books, videos, DVDs, games, and puzzles

What Not to Bring

  • Carseats older than 5 years.  Please call the Department of Transportation (1-800-424-9393) to check for recalls.
  • Items with stains or holes.
  • Toys with non-working parts or missing pieces.
  • Games or puzzles with missing pieces.
  • Stuffed animals
  • Underwear (unless BRAND NEW in the package)
  • Fall or winter clothing (because we'll have another sale for that later this year)

How to Prepare Your Items

Clothing

  • Wash and iron all garments.
  • Replace missing buttons and clip loose threads.  Sew any loose hems and seams.
  • Do not bring clothing that is stained or torn.
  • Only bring spring and summer clothing.
  • All garments should be hung with the hook facing left (so the hanger resembles a question mark).  Attach pants/skirts to the hanger with safety pins, or use a pants hanger.
  • Socks, onesies, and undergarments must be placed in zip-lock bags.

Toys and Equipment

  • Clean all toys and equipment with bleach water.
  • Make sure that all the pieces are included.
  • Be sure battery operated items have working batteries.
  • Bag all the small parts to toys in a zip-lock bag and tape the bag shut.  Make sure that all the pieces are taped together for multiple piece toys.
  • Games and puzzles must include all pieces.  Tape the box shut.
  • Group smaller items (rattles, hair clips, etc.) together in one bag.

Tagging Information

How to Tag Your Items

  • Only use a 3x5 index card cut in half.  DO NOT use anything smaller.  DO NOT use paper tags.
  • Write on the card in any color other than red.
  • The information on the card should be your consignor number (top right corner), a description of the item (middle center), with the number of pieces listed (for toys), the clothing size (use a number size), and the price (bottom center).
  • Please use $.50 price increments.  Items usually sell for 1/3 to 1/2 the original price, depending on name brand and condition.  Ask yourself, "What would I pay for this item?"
  • If you do not want to have your items included in the half-price sale, put the letters "FP" after the price.  Please write the letters "FP" in red.
  • If you would like to donate your unsold items to charity, please place a "D" in the bottom right corner.
  • Punch a hole in the top center of the tag and attach it to the garment with a safety pin or use a tag gun.  Do not use straight pins.
  • For toys/items in baggies, secure the tag with packaging tape.  Do not use scotch tape.

Where to tag clothes
  • Tag shirts over the front, right pocket.
  • Tag slacks on the front, right pocket.
